| One of Apple View guest house's four spacious
rooms |
Apple view guesthouse offers an inexpensive yet
comfortable stay in beautiful surroundings, close to the village
of Old Manali at the Northern end of the Kulu Valley.
The guest house is owned and run by Rabet Ram and
Kurma Thakur and family, who pride themselves on the standards and
cleanliness they maintain.
Himalayan seclusion
Apple View's secluded garden is paved with flagstones
of traditional local slate plus a grass area, surrounded by beds
of roses and blooming flowers in summer. There is also a herb and
vegetable garden that provides fresh produce for the kitchen. The
garden is spacious with enough room for all the guests to sit comfortably
and enjoy the peace of the Himalayan summer.
Large rooms

 |
| The garden is shaded by apple trees |
The guest house is small and intimate with only four double rooms,
and never feels crowded. Each room is spacious, light and airy,
with large wood framed windows fitted with fly screens. Each room
has a large double bed, lockable cupboard space, and table and chairs.
All linen is clean and fresh and blankets are provided at no charge,
with more available on request if needed. All rooms are secure and
lockable with either your own padlock or one provided. All rooms
have functioning electrical outlets for portable speakers or recharging
minidisc players.
Shady verandah

| Apple View's spacious verandah |
The rooms open onto the large shady verandah adjacent to the garden.
The verandah provides a pleasant place to sit and talk with fellow
guests in the evening or watch the rain during the monsoon season.
The large open roof area is ideal for those wanting to catch the
sun, and provides amazing views of the surrounding area; the snow
capped peaks bordering the Lahaul region are seen across the tops
of the apple orchards; on the other side the view of the "van
vihar" ancient Deodar forest leads on to the peak of Deo Tibba
and the Hamta pass on the trekking route from Naggar village to
Malana and the Parvati Valley.
